One of my favorite R&B artists, Brent Faiyaz surprised fans with the news of a new record early Thursday morning. Dubbed “Larger Than Life,” the 14-song collection serves as the follow-up to 2022’s “Wasteland,” which peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Album chart. Released on the 27th of October, this album showcases Brent Faiyaz’s signature style and introduces some exciting new elements to his music. The 14-track album features artists like Coco Jones, Missy Elliot, A$AP ANT, A$AP Rocky, Babyface Ray, Cruddy Murda, FELIX, Lil Gray, Missy, N3WYRKLA, Tommy Richman, and TTM Dawg.

Larger than Life envelops the listener in a velvety soundscape of classic R&B. The album maintains a smooth and soulful vibe throughout, with lush instrumentation and intricate vocal arrangements. The emotional depth of Brent Faiyaz's performance shines through in every track, leaving you with a sense of intimacy and connection. The production quality of “Larger than Life” is impeccable. The tracks are meticulously crafted, with a keen attention to detail in the arrangement and mixing. The instrumentals are rich and vibrant, creating a captivating backdrop for Brent's emotive vocals. The balance between the vocals and the instrumentals is expertly handled, allowing the listener to fully immerse themselves in the music.
I really love the cover art of this album, it shows the picture of a drawing of the bottom of a sneaker imprinted with “NUWO,” Faiyaz

’s clothing brand, stepping on two cars; which correlates to the title of the album. In an interview with Spotify, Brent Faiyaz revealed that Larger than Life is just a feeling, when you feel big, and this correlates with the artwork and even the music. There is this sonic, nostalgic feeling I felt when listening to this project.

My favorite tracks on this album include Moment of Your Life featuring Coco Jones, Pistachios, and Forever Yours.
To be honest I don’t really see any cons to this project, it is an amazing project, but I feel Brent Faiyaz could have explored more sounds, we have had “Wasteland”, and I feel he could have tapped into new genres and sounds with this album.
Rating.
8/10.
"Larger than Life” is a testament to Brent Faiyaz's prowess in the R&B genre. It offers a captivating blend of classic and contemporary elements, with impeccable production and exceptional vocal performances. While it has a few minor flaws, the album is a must-listen for music enthusiasts. Brent Faiyaz continues to prove his status as a powerhouse in the genre, and "Larger than Life" is a worthy addition to their discography. Don't miss this journey through the depths of the soul.
